You’ve probably seen this scene in movies: The parents tell the kids it’s bedtime and the kids go, “Aw, man,” and begrudgingly shuffle...
I’ve been wearing my glasses every day (like I’m supposed to) and been thinking to myself, I bet it’s not making that much difference.
I have taken them off and left them in the living room post-snogging (I’m allowed a teenage moment with my future husband) and am trying to a)read posts on a bridal forum b)write this c)pain my nails in an intricate floral pattern. All i can say is thank God I can touch type because I literally cannot see a thing - everything is blurry and swimming in and out of focus. Ironically…my long distance is ok! Stupid eyes. Apparently I do need the glasses!!! Seriously considering upgrading to these insanely gorgeous karen Millen frames though.
Boy’s Christmas Party this year is black tie - NERVOUS. I have no idea what to wear?! I went to a friend’s black tie wedding in Sept ‘10 and wore a floral strapless maxi-dress and Boy wore a black suit with black tie (obvs) but no-one else wore a long dress. One girl wore what can only be described as a knee-length wedding gown. Dipshit that she was.
Currently I have:
A red one-shoulder chiffon dress that’s just below knee length.
A black/floral strapless maxi dress.
A peach chiffon dress that’s just below knee length with a scalloped layered collar and a ruffled capelet.
A hankering for a shopping spree…
ADVICE PLEASE.

Listening to a song for my “Father-Daughter” dance at the wedding, then listened to my first dance with my husband song. I am now a snivelling bawling wreck. HOW am I supposed to get through a whole day of this?!?!?!
My ‘weeping madonna’ tag is growing. I’d love a Pieta tattoo, I just think it might come off as a bit appropriative as I was raised Muslim, not Catholic.
Devils advocate…why do you want a Pieta if you were raised Muslim? I’m nominally Pentecostal and find the iconography of religious art incredible and beautiful (even things like Lomi’s Judith slaying Holofernes) but wouldn’t necessarily rush to get religious body ink. Jus’ enquiring peach? X
I find it an eloquent and aesthetically beautiful representation of human suffering. I think, regardless of your religious beliefs, Mary is a perfect depiction of that.
That’s very true. I think she’s a beautiful character as well. The Pieta is heartbreaking (if you can, go and see Michaelangeo Buonarotti the Younger’s depiction).

is some crazy bird let loose and blind

Love is weak,or blind,or both;then comes
this crazy bird, pecks at it like a worm.

Why have I never read this before. Astounding.

And just in time for the holidays!
It’s always been a dream of mine to open by own jewelry store. With my education and my years of experience helping make jewelry stores successful, I was sure I could be just as successful for myself.
But with the costs of overhead and inventory, not…
